large sized, scrambling, hot to warm growing epiphyte from the Philippines,
Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, the Malaysian peninsula and Sumatra in evergreen,
semi-deciduous and deciduous dry lowland forests and savana-like woodlands at
elevations of sealevel to 800 meters with an elongate stem carrying many
oblong-ligulate, unequally rounded apically leaves that blooms in the spring
and summer on a horizontal or ascending, 5" [12 cm] long, simple, slightly
fractiflex inflorescence with small, triangular-ovate, subacute floral bracts carrying
2 to 8, long-lived, pleasingly fragrant flowers that open in succession.
